Raytheon is looking for a candidate to join our world-class team as a Java Software Engineer I to support our team in McKinney, TX.

What You Will Do

Identifying and understanding customer needs and translating those needs to viable design solutions utilizing a solid foundation in Java with experience working in a Linux environment.

Use sound and demonstrable understanding of software principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering (including software development lifecycle and software development process), design patterns, and Object-Oriented architecture.

Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.

Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.

Ability to obtain and maintain SCI program access and complete polygraphs.

Qualifications You Must Have

Bachelor’s degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM)

This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)

The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, asonly U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

Security+ Certification.

Experience with modern IDE software tools such as Eclipse ,Intellij, or similar

Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

Familiarity with Atlassian tools (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence, etc.)

Proven problem solving and analytical abilities.

The salary range for this role is 53,000 USD – 103,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
