We are looking for a skilled Software Developer II to join our team. In this role, you will design, develop, and implement complex software solutions to enhance our business operations and customer experience. You will be responsible for the entire software development life cycle, from requirement gathering to maintenance. Additionally, you will mentor junior developers, participate in code reviews, and ensure alignment with architectural guidelines and industry best practices.
**What does a Software Developer do at GAINSCO?**
* Designing, coding, and debugging applications in various software languages.
* Perform regular code reviews to ensure best practices are followed.
* Provide constructive feedback and mentor junior team members.
* Lead by example, demonstrating best practices in coding and review.
* Review and analyze existing software for effectiveness and efficiency.
* Develop strategies for improving or leveraging these systems.
* Collaborate with developers, UX designers, QA analysts, infrastructure teams, and business stakeholders.
* Ensure clear communication to understand requirements and solve problems effectively.
**What is required?**
**Education:**
* Bachelor’s degree or advanced technical certification(s) required.
**Experience:**
* 3-5 years of solid technical experience; insurance background is preferred.
* 3 years of working knowledge with C#.
* 3 years of working knowledge with .NET (Framework, Core, and Standard).
* 3 years of working knowledge with SQL (Writing stored procedures and CRUD statements).
* 2 years of working knowledge with Web framework technologies.
Skills and abilities:
* The ability to handle complex problems effectively, separating complex issues and generating multiple solutions
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* Analytical and problem-solving abilities
* Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
* Strong understanding of modern productivity tools for software development and project management.
* Adaptability to new tools and technologies to enhance productivity and efficiency
* Experience working in a collaborative team environment.
Other:
Requires Hands on knowledge writing code using C#, typescript, and JavaScript.
Must be familiar with:
* ASP.NET Core
* Angular
* ASP.Net
* Web Forms
* SQL
* HTML
* Web APIs (SOAP, REST)
* Knowledge of Azure and continuous integration using yaml based pipelines and release pipelines or Octopus deploy a plus.
